Clean Sweep for Southampton Team at Annual UBC Awards

At UBC's annual internal awards event, Southampton's Enterprise House scooped the 'Team of the Year' award along with 'Employee of the Year' for Sarah Brackpool. Fellow Southampton colleague Richard Bond tied for runner-up alongside Andy Billson, UBC's National Sales Office Manager.

In January 2017, UBC held its annual awards celebration for customer service employees and teams. The event recognises the hard work, dedication and outstanding service provided by UBC's business centre managers and assistants across all 8 service office locations.

Last year, Rutherford House in Birchwood near Warrington scooped the award for Team of the Year, owing largely to the team's impressive work during Rutherford House's first year of business.

Fast forward to 2016 and whilst Rutherford House continued to deliver outstanding results, another business centre at the opposite end of the country was delivering excellent levels of customer service and impressive occupancy levels.

As such, UBC named Enterprise House in Southampton as 'Team of the Year', led by Sarah Brackpool and Richard Bond, for delivering excellent performance throughout 2016 and generating a positive workspace community amongst clients and visiting companies.

In addition, Enterprise House was commended for its admirable charity fundraising work for KidsOut throughout 2016. Led by Sarah and Richard, the Southampton duo took on the responsibility of organising regular fundraising events at their own centre, along with supervising fundraising activities company-wide.

In particular, Sarah became the voice of UBC's fundraising initiative and worked extremely hard to inspire centre managers at UBC centres across the UK, generating ideas for fundraising events and leading the way with her own programme of fun and varied fundraisers. To date this has included a very popular Quiz Night, monthly raffles, tombolas, cake bakes, and more.

In 2016 she, along with Richard, also organised an Open House event to mark UBC's third anniversary at Enterprise House, which again proved a great success with many local businesses visiting the centre.

Employee of the Year

Sarah stops at nothing to create a stimulating and enjoyable environment for her business centre clients, and is well-known for securing extra perks - including one very special day last summer when she negotiated a free paella lunch for the entire business centre, courtesy of Tapas Barcelona. Events such as these, combined with her tireless enthusiasm in meeting clients' service requirements and involving the local community, earned Sarah the recognition of 'Employee of the Year' in 2017.

Her colleague Richard Bond was runner-up for Employee of the Year alongside Andrew Billson, National Sales Office Manager, who once again surpassed expectations in developing new business opportunities and introducing hundreds of new clients for UBC throughout the year.

Managing Director of UBC Tom Mulvaney, who presented the awards, commented:

"It goes without saying that the number one component of UBC's serviced office provision is our people - because our serviced offices simply wouldn't exist without the skills, dedication and support of UBC's hardworking teams.

"I would like to congratulate Sarah, Richard and Andy on their well-deserved awards and also to our fantastic business centre teams across the country, who work so hard to deliver a professional, stimulating environment for our hundreds of clients. Congratulations to you all, and here's to another great year in 2017!
